Area Sales Manager - Eye Care (Glaucoma)

Job Summary:

  • Ensure the achievement of Business Unit objectives which include sales, gross profit and contribution, while adhering to PS&M guidelines.

  • Motivate and direct team members to meet or exceed assigned sales budget, in accordance with unit/value targets and within expense limits.

  • Cooperate with Product Manager, National Sales Manager and Associate Director – BU Head Eye Care to implement promotional activities.

  • Report feedback and recommend adjustments if needed after implementation and work closely with the key customers

Key Responsibilities:

  • Meet or exceed team sales targets, expressed in units, value and other objectives monthly or cumulatively by year-end.

  • Develop and maintain effective personal relationships within the team, company and target clients.

  • Ensure the training, development and evaluation of the sales force.

  • Recommend changes in the numbers and disposition of the field force within the team, recommend promotions, transfers, terminating, and salary adjustments.

  • Operate within the approved budgetary cost controls where and when commitments are identifiable.

  • Keep Marketing Management fully informed on market conditions, competitive situations, regulatory changes and all activities on a weekly basis.

  • Implement market research project if needed such as customer satisfaction survey, market potential of new products.

  • Coordinate with the Product Manager and National Sales Manager to develop incentive schemes to motivate the field force to drive sales to meet business unit target.

  • Coordinate with the Product Manager and National Sales Manager to plan and develop country key opinion leader to provide education and information to customers.

  • Coordinate with the Product Manager and National Sales Manager to implement, control and report on pre-launch campaigns of assigned products.

  • Be involved in field assessments of Product Specialist’s performance to determine needs and potential.

  • Plan and evaluate the individual Product Specialist’s operation in terms of target doctors, activities and expenses to maintain a profitable operation.
